What Pixirain collects, why we need it, who gets to see it, and the controls you have over all of it.
Last updated 14 August 2026
1. What we collect
Account details — your name, email address, optional phone number, profile photo, bio, and the role your account has. Freelancers and project managers additionally have skills, an hourly rate, and portfolio links.
Project data — briefs, requirements, milestones, files you upload, messages you send in a workspace, reviews, and disputes.
Payment data — order totals, transaction status, and the references Razorpay returns. Card numbers and bank credentials are handled by Razorpay and never reach our servers.
Security data — the time, IP address, browser and sign-in method for each successful sign-in. You can see this yourself under Settings.
2. Why we use it
To run your projects and show them to the people working on them; to take payment and release escrow; to send the notifications you have not switched off; to detect and investigate abuse and account compromise; and to meet tax and accounting obligations.
4. How long we keep it
Project, invoice and escrow records are kept for as long as the law requires us to keep financial records, because they belong to both sides of a transaction. Deactivating your account disables sign-in immediately but does not erase these shared records. Sign-in history is kept for troubleshooting and abuse investigation, and is erased when an account is deleted.
Data already written to a backup is removed when that backup expires on its normal rotation, within 90 days. Backups are never used to restore an account that asked to be erased.
5. Your controls
See and export — download everything we hold about you as a JSON file from Settings → Data & account.
Correct — edit your profile and contact details at any time. Changes to your sign-in email and phone number are verified before they take effect.
Limit — turn off any notification category, and choose who can see your contact details, under Settings.
Deactivate — close your account from Settings once you have no projects in flight. Sign-in stops working immediately and everything else is left intact, so support can reverse it.
Delete — Settings → Data & account → Delete account erases your name, contact details, profile, uploaded files and message content after a 30-day grace period. Invoices, project records and reviews survive with your identity stripped out, because they belong to the people you worked with and to tax law. The Data Deletion Policy lists exactly what goes and what stays.
7. Security
Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes and are never recoverable in plain text. Changing your password invalidates outstanding reset links. Email changes are confirmed from the new inbox and announced to the old one, so a change cannot be made silently. If you see a sign-in you do not recognise, change your password and contact us.
8. Children
Pixirain is not intended for anyone under 18. If we learn that we hold data about a child, we delete it.
9. Changes
We update this policy as the product changes; the date at the top reflects the last revision, and significant changes are emailed to account holders. The current Terms of Service sit alongside this policy.
