Refund & Cancellation Policy

Escrow makes this simple: whatever has not been released is refundable. Here is exactly when, and how the money gets back to you.

Last updated 14 August 2026

1. How money is held

Payment for a project is collected up front and held in escrow. It is not paid to the person doing the work when you pay; it is released milestone by milestone, and only after that milestone is approved.

That is what makes this policy simple: whatever has not been released is refundable, and whatever has been released has already been delivered and paid out.

2. Cancelling before work begins

If you cancel before a project manager or freelancer has been assigned and no milestone has started, the full amount is refunded, less any payment-gateway charge the provider does not return to us.

Cancel from the project workspace, or write to support@pixirain.com.

3. Cancelling a project in progress

When work has started, a cancellation settles like this:

  • Milestones you have already approved are not refundable. That work was delivered and the money has left escrow.
  • The milestone in progress is settled proportionally to what has been delivered, agreed between you, the project manager and the freelancer. Where it cannot be agreed, it goes to the dispute process below.
  • Milestones not yet started are refunded in full.

4. What is not refundable

  • Work you approved, whether by approving the milestone or by letting an auto-approval window you configured elapse.
  • A change of mind about scope that was clearly listed on the package you bought.
  • Delay caused by information or access we asked you for and did not receive — delivery clocks pause while a milestone is waiting on you.
  • Third-party costs already incurred on your behalf and agreed in advance, such as a domain, a licence or a paid API.

5. If you disagree with a delivery

Raise a dispute from the project workspace. Escrow for the disputed milestone is frozen for the duration, so nothing is paid out while it is open. A project manager reviews it first; if it is not resolved there it escalates to Pixirain.

Outcomes are a revision, a partial release, or a refund of the disputed milestone. We will tell you which and why.

6. How a refund reaches you

Refunds go back to the original payment method through Razorpay. We do not refund to a different card, account or person.

We start a refund within 5 business days of it being agreed. How long it then takes to appear is set by your bank or card issuer, typically 5–10 business days. You can follow the status under Transactions.

Requests are made from the project workspace or by writing to support@pixirain.com from the email address on the account.
